The customer places an order
Nothing changes at checkout. The order is held in "Open for changes" while the window is open.

They see "Need to change something?"
On the order confirmation page, in My Account and through a link in the order email, with the time left.

They fix it themselves
Address, cancellation and, with Pro, items. They see any difference in price and confirm first.

The window closes
The options disappear and the order moves to Processing on its own, ready to pack.
Address changes and cancellations, free
The most common "can I change my order?" emails, handled without you. No trials, no limits.
A change window you set
From 5 minutes to 24 hours after checkout. When it closes, the options disappear and the order carries on.
Fix the shipping address
Customers correct the street, house number or phone themselves. A new country, state or postcode comes to you to approve first.
Cancel without emailing you
Cash on delivery and bank transfer orders are cancelled at once and restocked. Paid orders are refunded automatically or sent to you, your choice.
Hold orders until it closes
New orders wait in "Open for changes", so nothing is packed before the customer is sure, then move to Processing on their own.
Link in the order email
The order email includes a "Change your order" link that works for guests too.

Setting it up

Install the free plugin
In WordPress, go to Plugins › Add New, search for "Bahader Edit Order After Checkout", then install and activate it. WooCommerce must be active.

Choose the window and options
Go to WooCommerce › Settings › Advanced › Edit order after checkout. The defaults work out of the box: a 60-minute window with address changes and cancellation on.

Add Pro (optional)
Upload the Pro zip under Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin and activate it. Its settings are under WooCommerce › Order Edits Pro.

Activate your licence
Enter the key from your purchase email under WooCommerce › Order Edits Pro › Licence to get updates and support.
The options appear on the order confirmation page and on the order in My Account. If your theme's confirmation page doesn't show them, add the [bahader_edit_order] shortcode to it.
Questions
Is the free version really free?
Yes. Address changes, cancellation, holding orders and the email link work fully, with no limits or trials. Pro is a separate add-on for stores that want customers to change items too.
How do I get my licence key?
Choose a plan and pay through our reseller Paddle. Your licence key and download link arrive by email from support@bahaderlabs.com within a few minutes. Install Pro next to the free plugin and enter the key under WooCommerce › Order Edits Pro › Licence.
What happens to the money when an order changes?
If the order costs more, the customer pays the difference through a linked top-up order with any of your payment methods. If it costs less, the difference is refunded through the payment gateway, or sent to you to approve first. For cash on delivery and bank transfer, the amount due is simply updated.
Will items be shipped before the customer is sure?
Not if you keep "Hold orders" on. New orders wait in "Open for changes" until the window closes, then move to Processing on their own. Removed items waiting for a refund are listed on the order screen so they aren't packed.
Which payment gateways can refund automatically?
Any gateway that supports WooCommerce refunds, such as Stripe and PayPal. Gateways without refund support always send the request to you.
What happens when my licence ends?
Pro keeps working on your store. You only stop getting new versions and email support until you renew.
Does the plugin send my store data anywhere?
The free plugin never contacts any outside server. Pro checks your licence key and looks for updates on our server, sending only your site address, the plugin version and the key.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If Pro isn't right for you, ask within 14 days of buying or renewing and you get your money back in full.
